We are happy to share our vision with the Sangha for a new memorial garden. Help us make this project come to life! If you have the means to financially support this project please let us know. A few members have already expressed a wish to have their names remembered here and have contributed in order to make this a reality.
The memorial garden will be a contemplative outdoor space where deceased members and friends can be remembered and celebrated. The garden will be constructed in 2 phases. During the first phase we will construct the garden itself which will include paths, native plantings, a water feature and Jizo figure for Water Baby ceremonies, and a central memorial with names on plaques. Ashes may be scattered in the garden or place in bio-degradable containers in the garden.
The second phase will be to construct a small pagoda with an altar, a place for quiet sitting, and shelving for ashes to be kept. Both the garden and the pagoda will allow memorial services for family and friends.
