How To Find The NC Zen Center
The Brooks Branch Zendo is located five miles north of Pittsboro, North Carolina, 18 miles south of Chapel Hill, and 35 miles west of Raleigh. Drive time is one hour from Greensboro, 1 1/2 hours from Winston-Salem and two hours from Charlotte. Our address is 390 Ironwood, Pittsboro, N. C., 27312-7411.

Driving Directions
The Center is located on Ironwood, a small gravel road off Russell Chapel Road, near the intersection of Russell Chapel Road and Old Graham Road. As you proceed down Ironwood you arrive at a parking area on the right. You may park there and walk to the zendo, weather permitting. Simply continue down the road for about 75 yards to the large gate. There you may continue walking and follow the trail along the creek and up a short slope to the zendo, or you may follow the road up the hill and around to the zendo. In inclement weather, or to make use of handicapped access, please drive past the lower parking, follow the road and park at the zendo.
From Chapel Hill
Proceed south on 15-501 approximately 12 miles. Cross the Haw River. Go one mile further and take a right onto Russell Chapel Road. Go 1.3 miles and turn right onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
From Raleigh
Get on US 1 South/US 64 West from Raleigh’s Outer Loop 440. Go south approximately seven miles. Take US 64 West toward Pittsboro. Go about 18 miles toward Pittsboro. Exit onto US 15-501 heading north toward Chapel Hill. Proceed about two miles, then turn left onto Russell Chapel Road. Go 1.3 miles and turn right onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
From Raleigh/Durham Airport – RDU
On leaving the airport take Interstate 40 West toward Chapel Hill. Proceed 11 miles, then take Exit 273, Highway 54 toward Chapel Hill. Go three miles, then go under US 15-501, exit immediately to the right, and merge onto US-501 South/54 West Bypass. Go two miles, then exit to the right. At the light turn left onto US 15-501 South. Proceed south on 15-501 approximately 12 miles. Cross the Haw River. Go one mile further and take a right onto Russell Chapel Road. Go 1.3 miles and turn right onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
From Burlington and Graham
Take Interstate 40-85 to Exit 147. Take Highway 87 South toward Pittsboro. Go approximately 17 miles. Bear left onto Mt. Olive Church Road, which becomes Old Graham Road. Go approximately 8 miles and turn left on Russell Chapel Road. Go about 200 yards and turn left onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
From Burlington and Points West
You can take Interstate 85 North/40 West to Graham and follow the directions from there. You can also take US 421 South to US 64 in Siler City. Proceed east on 64 about 17 miles. Take exit for 15-501 North toward Chapel Hill. Turn left onto 15-501 North. Proceed north approximately one mile, then turn left onto Russell Chapel Road. Proceed 1.3 miles and turn right onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
From Charlotte
You can come up Interstate 85 North and follow the directions from Greensboro. You can also come up Highway 49, which is very scenic. Take 49 North out of Charlotte from the vicinity of UNC- Charlotte. Come up through the Uwharrie National Forest to US 64 in Asheboro. Proceed about 30 miles on 64 East toward Pittsboro. Take exit for 15-501 North toward Chapel Hill. Turn left onto 15-501 North. Proceed north approximately one mile, then turn left onto Russell Chapel Road. Proceed 1.3 miles and turn right onto Ironwood. Park in the indicated area.
